Data Partnerships

Purpose
The Healthy Streets Index is currently used by transport planners to inform strategic decisions on street infrastructure improvements that encourage active travel, used in combination with the Healthy Streets Design Checks and 'How Healthy Is My Street' tools available from Healthy Streets.
Approach
The Index is composed of the factors we know to have the biggest impacts on both human health and people’s experience of walking, cycling and being on streets and is the first of its kind. It has been created in partnership with Healthy Streets Ltd, and researchers affiliated with the Bartlett School of Architecture, and the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analytics (CASA), both part of University College London.
